Where is my washer fluid pump?

My truck does not appear to have a washer fluid pump. Where would it normally be located? If mine was yanked, has anyone ever installed a modern universal pump, and where did you put it?

thanks

It`s attached to your wiper motor.

Mine was under the dash just to the right of the gauge cluster. not real hard to get to.

Erase "not" and I'll agree (with A/C) -- on the wiper motor like special-K says...

I'll be watching this post to see if anybody suggests the remote mounted universal pump. I have heard it's an easy mod.

I put a universal pump under the res. beside the volt reg.
In bad weather I have a hose that connects under the hood and
a magnet/sqirter I put on the truck.

It's under the dash, to the right of the cluster, if your sitting in the driver position it is down and to the left of the radio. There are a couple of screws that require a very small socket or screw driver. Mine was next to the wiper motor, the toughest part was getting the hose debris out of the way. When installing a new or rebuilt be aware that there is a gear that needs to be engaged for the thing to work.

I am putting an electric one from a mid-90s S-10 on my stock bottle. Just remove the pump and the rubber gromet/gasket from S-10 washer bottle. Drill the exact same size hole in the stock bottle at the bottom, install gromet, install pump, run the hot wire from totally trick "Putter's Delay Wiper Switch" and voilla.....new electric pump that squirts like a sumbeach.

Here is the little black elec pump that I am using. It almost doesn't show and fits right up next to the stock bottle. I wire it into the wiper switch so when you press the switch it pumps and it doesn't keep going like the original. I can never keep the original ones working.
If anyone needs a change over system: directions, pump, color coded wires, connectors, hose "T". You can plug it in without cutting any of the original stock wires and the two speeds still work as designed.
I can put a set together, box it and ship it to you for $30, if you don't want to go through all the hassle of figuring it all out, up under your dash.
Just let me know if you want one.

I did a JY one. Got a washer pump from an old BMW (I think).

Re: Where is my washer fluid pump?

My original pump wouldn't stop pumping...so whenever the wipers were on, it would squirt until the resevoir went dry!

So, I bought a $14 universal washer pump at Advance Auto. It's a little fatter than a roll of quarters.

I mounted it to the inner fender, found a fuseable link coming off the battery wire...grounded one wire and ran the other one to a throttle type switch under the dash. Of course I re-routed the hoses to the new pump...Now when I want to spray the windshield, I flip the switch up, and voila, the windshield gets sprayed. I like it because it's totally independent of the wipers, unlike the stock setup.

Great ideas.
Where were all of you when I was fighting the reinstall of a rebuilt pump with my fat hands under the dash, in a contortionist position? And how about those two "stinking" little nuts that hold everything together? Will never do that again.
