seam sealer

 I am replacing floor pans on my 69 c10. can anyone suggest a quality seam sealer. Also, does the big retailers such as Pep Boys and Autozone carry the sealer? I would rather pick this up locally than order over internet.

thanks
Rick

Re: seam sealer

3-M makes a good seam sealer so your store should have it ,I got mine from NAPPA

a local auto paint supplier will have a better selection of premium grade products than peppys

I'd go with the 3m its the best i've run across, and you can get it just about anywhere.

I agree about 3M, but you should ask the dealer for suggestions on which type to use depending on where you are using it. In the 3M brand, there are many different styles. Some will set up hard and are not paintable where others are soft and are paintable. There is even a self flowing seam sealer.

3M 'Drip-Check' is what I usually use. It flows into the seem well, and it can be painted over. Many sealers, particularly silicone based types, cannot be painted over. Good advice is to go to an auto-body supply shop. Some NAPA's do, and they carry 3M products.
