front sway bar --66 1/2 ton
Do the lower a-arms have the 2 holes for the bushing bracket mounts for front sway bars? And does the frame have the front mount holes in place. In other words am I going to have to drill?

Re: front sway bar --66 1/2 ton

Dennis,
Which frame mounts are you using? Bob |

Not sure---whatever I get from TX Firefighter. Do you have a suggestion?

Re: front sway bar --66 1/2 ton
No, I'm just curious as to whether the frame mounts from a 66 and earlier are the same as 67 and later. It doesn't look like they would be the same but I'm not sure. I have a bar and mounts from a 68 that I'm going to put on a 66 after I get the crossmember swapped out. I think the 68 mounts will work but the 66 mounts are probably different. Got any pics?

Re: front sway bar --66 1/2 ton
No not yet, my friend has a 66, I have a 67 --- I make comparisons to see what is the same. As you know the 66 and 67-72 suspension is near if not the same. We put 72 spindles and disc on his 66 just like on my 67. Next is a front sway bar. Will send pics if I get done before you but probably will be 4 to 6 weeks. I still have to pick up the sway bar and mounts from TX Firefighter. Only thing I would have a pic of is my 67 with sway bar.
Looks like you may need another GMC. 8-) |
Re: front sway bar --66 1/2 ton
The front crossmembers are different and the sway bar mount on a 67-later uses the same rivet as the crossmember. I haven't seen the mounts on a 66.
