Blazer going under the knife, some ?s

I've got a 72 Blazer and a 72 Jimmy I'm about to tear down and build one using parts from both. One is rusty and one is dented up. How hard is it to change out bedsides - do they unbolt or do you have to cut them out? Is it possible to make a Blazer door by cutting the top section off a truck door? It looks like it will work, but I want to make sure before I go hacking up some good truck doors. I'm just getting started and I'm sure I'll have some more questions as I go. Thanks for any help!!

Bedsides unbolt and have a few spot welds. Goo thread by VT blazer showing how to change a bedside. Doors are the same you will need to take off reinforcing plate off blazer door that goes around latch and weld on. Also the little wedge at the back

I think it was VTBlazer that posted some pics about a bedside swap. Hopefully someone will be able to post a link to the thread. It might be in the FAQ's, but I've never been able to find anything there myself.

Truck doors can be cut down for Blazers & Jimmy's. I believe the Blazer/Jimmy doors have some added reinforcement but other than that they are the same. The "Factory Service Manual" shows where to cut. They are a decent reference if you are going to be tearing your rigs apart. Most of the board vendors can get them.

If you don't want to cut down truck doors I believe GMC Paul has blazer doors already cut.
