no fire no start
okay got a timing light this morning and timed my truck its sweet spot seemed to be 9 dregees btdc run good no pinging or nothing let it sit ilding it cut off now i have no fire from the coil replaced the coil and condenser still no fire got points and going to get a set of wires to make sure that the coil wire isn't bad any other things i need to look at and get it running again

make sure ya still have power TO the dist.

With the key on you should have about nine volts to the + side of the coil and while the starter is turning you should have 12 volts. The - side of the coil is connected to the points and condenser and ground when the points are closed and when they open the coil fires. You can run a jumper to the + side of the coil and see if it cranks the engine but don't leave it on or it will burn up the coil.

check the resistor. and if it is good make sure you are not running an internally resisted coil!

check your points, could be adjusted too far out and not be closed enough to get fire. chris.
