Brake rotor...

What is the thickness on disc brake rotors of the 71-72 variety??? I bought some loaded calipers here a while back and they won't slip over the rotors. The rotors I have are about 1 1/4", the opening between the brake pads are about 1 1/16". Do I have the wrong calipers?? Later, Mark

Re: Brake rotor...

take a c-clamp and try pushing the piston all the way into the bore to get the clearance needed

The loaded calipers are brand new and already bottomed out. I am thinking that maybe these calipers fit GM cars.

Re: Brake rotor...

Early 80's pickups (some) had a 1" thick rotor, vs the 1 1/4" rotors on the older trucks. These required different spindles, as well as calipers..... L
