Re: changing over gas pedal (help)
so why does everyone want the cable instead of the rod ?? i liked the rod setup in my 68 camaro ALOT. wouldnt mind changing mine over to rod myself.

Re: changing over gas pedal (help)
I'm swapping over due to adding a 4bbl to my I-6 and it's sooooooooo much easier than trying to make the rod work and buying a bunch of expensive bellcranks and linkage and wasting time trying to hook it all up and....

Re: changing over gas pedal (help)
Main reason is safety....if an engine mount breaks and the engine rocks over....it pulls the throttle OPEN if its connected via a rod, very dangerous

Re: changing over gas pedal (help)
I think the cable hooked to the right linkage looks alot cleaner. I am looking into all after market. "LOKAR" I have the lokar TH400 kickdown switch and bracket on my edelbrock carb right now. Soon I hope to instal lokar pedal's, and the cable for the gas pedal.

Re: changing over gas pedal (help)
I got my pedal from an 80's chevy, just put it where it is comfortable and drill the three holes to mount it and another for the cable. If you are using the GM style cable youll need to make the hole square with a file so the cable can snap in there, cant speak for the lokar setup though

Re: changing over gas pedal (help)
I put a cable set up in my truck, but I later switched back. To make the square hole I first drilled a round hole, then squared it buy using a Jig saw and cleaned it up with a file. was real easy
