Rear Shockwaves. Installing at an angle?
 

I installed the new 4 link but ran into a little problem. I installed the lower brackets just like you are supposed to but the shockwave is really close to the frame rails. I am sure it would be okay but don't want to take a chance. I was thinking about making a different bracket and installing the shockwaves at an angle and wasn't sure if this is okay? Am i not going to get the full amount of travel because it is at an angle? I thought since both would be angled the same wouldn't they cancel each other out and have normal travel? I think that makes sence:crazy: . I would like it to be still very functionable. Thanks ahead of time!

As long as the angle isn't too drastic, I dont see it being a problem.

Most Shock Co's say no more that 28 degrees. Check with Air Ride.

Putting them at an angle will not hurt them. You will want to keep them at 25degrees or less and both at the same angle. You will not lose any travel either.

yup..... in fact you are better off mounting them at an angle.......

Tell more please... Is it because of the twist on axle under acceleration and deceleration?

It is because when you mount them at an angle you are actually putting them in a slight motion ratio against the vertical path of the axle. So you are effectively giving the chassis a mechanical advantage over the shocks. By doing that you are broadening your tuning window plus you are increasing the articulation throw of the suspension. That is why you will hardley ever see a manufacturer mount them vertically in a 1:1 ratio....
