72' burb front end on a 64' stepside

Can I swap the front end off a 72' 1/2 ton two wheel drive suburban to a 64' truck frame? Reason is because the burb has 5 lug disk brakes, everything I want for my 64'. So... will it work? Thanks for any info, Steve

unbolt and then swap. It will bolt in with only having to drill a couple of new holes. If you are going to go the swap route go later model 73-up because the parts are cheaper and it rides better because of the rubber bushings, check out FAQ it goes into detail there

You will find that you don't have to swap crossmembers to get 5lug disc brakes. Just change the upper and lower a-frames and spindles assembly.
then use the centerlink and inner and outer assembly and bolt it in. This will save you tons of time. While you are in there change the ball joints.
