thinking of doing this how difficult is it and what different options do i have in where i will put the gas in at

I would like to know the same thing. Something thats definitely on the to-do list, the saddle-back kinda bothers me.

Also, how good are these kits on brothers, LMC, ect.?

I bought the blazer tank set up for my 65 which is basically the kit they all talk about.. It mounts up pretty easy.. I had a fuel cell there before but didn't care for it as it was only 16 gals.. This tank is supposed to be 20.. The hardest part for you to do will be running the fuel line and fill.. You can always go to the wreckers and cut a door out of a truck and weld it to your truck or you can put a cap in the bed of the truck. Just make sure you have gas before you load it all the way up.. The Blazer tank bolts up easy. The only problem is figuring out how to fill it. Thru the bed or modify your fender for side fill. I chose the latter. But I drove it around for a few weeks with the filler hose poking up thru my bed until I got around to modifying my fender....

that looks good. So how did you route the filler tube in comparison to the frame rail/suspension and what-not?

Kwkenuf, That filler door looks awesome! Same plans I have for my fleetside. I hope mine comes out looking as good.

Thanks, the whole truck is still kinda rough but it's my daily driver and function has definitely ruled the day over form... I never seem to finish my projects with paint and interior.....

Remeber his truck is also a stepside, so the fleet is gonna be a little different. I am also starting to think about the frame rail tank becuase, well mainly, i wanna move the other one to put some subs in, lol. Not exactly the best reason, but for anyone with one in the cab still, does it stink up the cab at all or is it mostly ok? LMC claims in their little shpeal about their bed tank that the in cab ones smell up the cab. I have yet to hook up mine, so i don't know if it does or not. LMC is selling their kit with sending unit and straps and such for 200.00. Good price?

mine doesnt smell at all except when u fill it up but after a couple of minutes it goes away i looked at the LMC tank kit it said some fabrication would be required how much fabbing would i have to do should i go with the k-5 tank or the LMC/Brothers kit?

Well I went a different route. I'm going fuel injection and an in tank pump was a must. Went to the JY and found a pretty decent setup. 93 chevy van and it has to be atleast 20 gal and has a fuel pump in the tank. I had to move the rear crossmember back about 3" and take a 1/2 in off of both bottom fram rails but fits like a glove. Ill post some pics when I get back into it later this week.

They are kinda too big.. I have a burb tank and the thing is huge... a 1/4 tank on that put 1/2 a tank in my 20gal tank on my 4x4... I know you can use a later model blazer tank but you have to remove the rear crossmember and cut some of the rear sill of the bed out also to get it to fit.....

I still have the in cab tank in mine as well as a couple saddle tanks, but I use the in cab tank most often and have never smelled gas in the cab unless I overflowed the tank when filling.

I got a 16 gallon plastic fule cell with the sending unit for right about 100$ and I just cut off the rivets on the rear crossmember and I am putting it there and just moving the crossmember to the other side and welding it back in here is a pic of what I removed and thats the fuel cell http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...5/DSCN2199.jpg
