New cab mounts

How do you swap out cab mounts? Is there a 1 person way of doing it?

Thanks

I did mine by myself. Hyraulic jack and 4x4 wood blocks are what I used. I did them all one at a time and check with a tape measure periodically to make sure the cab didn't shift. When using a jack, keep your hands away from being between the frame mount and cab, in case the jack fails.

The front ones are a pain the ass because they have a spot weld from the bolt head to the cab floor. The back ones are real easy to swap (barring a lot of corrosion to lock 'em up.)

How did you position the wood when you pulled the mount?

Flat against the cab floor outside the frame rails with the jack nearest the mount I was working on. I think I had to stack like 3 of em for the jack to reach.

I used a hydraluic jack and a 4x4 like 67 chevy redneck, I had no problems at all I used a 4X4x10" block and positioned it long ways from the jack to the cab. I did one at a time.

Do you have to remove the gas tank to access the back nut on the cab mount?

Re: New cab mounts

You shouldnt have to the nut is in a cage set up but if its rusty and dont come out it might spin in there, then take the tank out and use a vice grip or something similer

are you doing just the cab mounts or are you doing the ones under the rad support as well? the PO of my truck took the core support ones out to try and lower the front, me and a friend did all six in about 2 hours
