Booster Question.....
Ok I just picked up a 3/4 ton booster and master cylinder off a 70 pickup with disc brakes. I want to intstall it on my 71 1/2 ton with disc brakes. Do I have to use the 3/4 ton master cyl or can I use the "new" 1/2 ton cyl that is on my 71? Also what about the proportining valve? Will the one on my 71 work or do I need to get one for a 3/4 ton? Anything else I need to know for the swap? TIA.....

Re: Booster Question.....
pretty sure that you need a 3/4 ton MC with the booster. Prop valve should be good if it's for disc/drum but the lines will need switched. 3/4 and 1 ton lines are reversed from 1/2ton, so I have been told.

Re: Booster Question.....
You did get the brackets that 3/4 booster mounts to, right? If not go get them if you can you will need them along with the rods to if I rember reading correctly. The 3/4 ton master cylinder has to be used with the3/4 booster. Some one tried to mix a 3/4 ton booster with 1/2 ton master cylinder and it didnt work. Not sure on the proportioning valve but someone will chime in.

Re: Booster Question.....
This is what I am planning. I have the 1 ton brackets, booster and MC but my booster has fluid coming out of the vacuum line! Looks like I have a core with a good set of brackets. I am redoing all of my brakes as well and adding discs. Very popular and economical upgrade.
