Harmonic Damper for Goodwrench 350
I am installing a new Goodwrench 350. The harmonic damper off my original 305 is galled in the sealing area so I am going to replace it. Also, the original timing marks on the 305 chain cover are in the 12:00 position which is different than the bolt on timing marks that came with the new 350.
The local NAPA store can get me a new harmonic damper that fits a 77-86 350. LMC also sells a 350 damper for 77-86. Is that the right harmonic damper? I want to make sure the TDC/timing indicator matches correctly with the damper. |
Re: Harmonic Damper for Goodwrench 350
They will work just use the correct timing tab. Your crate engine should have came with two tabs. I've got a adjustable tab, so I'm not sure which one to use. The tab depends on the size of the balancer. I'm sure if you purchase it from NAPA they will sell you the correct tab to work with the balancer.

Yep...Pioneer makes a nice balancer for about $60 and a factory balancer is about the same price also. Summit shipping is free, you just pay a handling charge.
