ECE Super Track Bar
Tonight I was installing my Super Track Bar. When I went to bolt the bar to the PS bracket it looks like the bolt will hit the axle when it's fully tightened. I have ECE's 5" drop springs and i'm running the bolt through the upper hole in the bracket. Did I do something wrong? Tech Support won't be open 'til Monday, but I need the truck before then. Thanks in advance for you help.

Re: ECE Super Track Bar
I just installed one yesterday... there should be no issues with the bolt contacting the axle tube. Can you post a pic?

Re: ECE Super Track Bar
Mine is running through the bottom hole and does not contact my axle with a 6" drop.

Re: ECE Super Track Bar
A quick fix would be to drop the bracket and install the bolt through the other direction with the nut on the outside. Then re-mount your bracket. The only draw back I see would make it hard to pull the bar off. But I don’t think that will be a problem.

Re: ECE Super Track Bar
I just got home from work and I'm going out to mess with it in a few. I Sport Truck, I thought about that but the instructions specify that the bolt be installed facing the rearend, although I'm not sure why. I will try and get a pic if I get out there before dark. Thank you all for your help!
EDIT: After I torqued to bolt, the only thing that interfered was the brake line. I just pulled it out of it's clip on the axle and shifted it upwards a bit, and everything is good. |
Re: ECE Super Track Bar
Good to hear.
the only reason I can see htem recommending the bolt mount 'inwards' would be for maintenance like SportTruck stated. |
