Re: how to get a 1/2 ton to sit up like a 3/4??
do you know how much higher it is that you want to go? fabtech makes a 3" lift coil for 73-87 2wd trucks.

Check out the fabtech kit, its about 640-750$, a little costly for some you might also check and look at the truckin mag and see the ads for lifts of 3". I went the fabtech route but havent installed the kit yet, waiting till i replace the entire front suspension next month. One of the few C-10s with a fuel injected V8 and 30MPG!! :metal:

Hello check around an get you some heavy duty springs or call ece or cpp they have all kinds of springs but a 3/4 spring will ride harsh

Re: how to get a 1/2 ton to sit up like a 3/4??
Find a local spring shop to re-arch your springs.
On my 70 4x4 3/4 ton, I paid $491, tax included, for one day service to have the springs re-arched and have an add-a-leaf 2" lift front and rear. I will never worry about axle-wrap due to rear blocks. For the cost, you can't beat it. Plus, aftermarket springs are usually sloppy, and you will find that you cannot use as large a tire as you thought, and you can really get bouncy. The drawback is a stiffer ride, but better road handling, and your wheels will not droop as deep into gullies when you cross them. |
Re: how to get a 1/2 ton to sit up like a 3/4??
Just order replacement springs for a 3/4 ton........ The only thing I would think you might want to double sheck is if the leaf springs are the same length from eyelet to eyelet.
