Help Trying To Find Hard Parts!!!
I posted an ad on the parts board for the carpet stainless and the inside rear panels. Also a single wall top in the northwest. As you can tell, no luck! Am I wasteing my time looking for these things? Thanx for the help, Dana:confused:

Re: Help Trying To Find Hard Parts!!!
If you get desperate and have to buy new side panels, here's a place to get them, but they sure are expensive.

Re: Help Trying To Find Hard Parts!!!
Carpet strips and side panels will be difficult to find. I've only seen a couple of each come up forsale on the board in the past. I believe it was LIVRAT who had a top for sale a while back. I'm not sure if he still has it. Also, check with WES at Classicheartbeat.com and PICKMUP as they both seem to find deals in the northwest on a regular basis.
If you aren't going for stock, you can make your own rear side panels. RodDoors also makes "custom" side panels, but you'll need to take a mortgage out on your house to pay for them. Brothers has the rear side panels for $460. http://www.brothersonlinestore.com/p...number=BRPS200 |
Re: Help Trying To Find Hard Parts!!!
Maybe specify if you want a single wall or double wall top also to make things easier.
Here is a link for a top: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=235752 It takes time and lots of looking to find those hard to find pieces. It took me about 6 months to find the roll bar I wanted, so keep trying. I made my side panels out of stanless steel as that was the look I wanted. My top crome strips that hold the side panels will be up for sale in the next month or 2 as I do not need them. Not sure right now what I want to ask for them as they are in really good shape and are pretty hard to find. |
Re: Help Trying To Find Hard Parts!!!

Re: Help Trying To Find Hard Parts!!!
That`s how my`71 was.I was impressed with all the fresh work on it,so I bought it.The new parts were worth the asking prices.Thing was, once I got it home I had to undo 1/2 of it and put it back right. It had a fresh healthy-built motor, but leaked all over.It was clean when I bought it.Drove it home and every gasket was seeping. The torquer was a 327-type and there was no venting in the VCs.I put a set with breathers, cleaned it,and was good to go.It was a 3spd and when I wound it out getting out on the hiway in second, going to 3rd,the whole truck went from pullin`left to going right. The rear u-bolts were loose on the new lift kit, real loose, like cocked when I got home. That was just the beginning...
If I ever get over to my`70 CST parts Blazer I`ll check for the carpet strip condition. |
Re: Help Trying To Find Hard Parts!!!
I have 3 extra single wall tops--one white, and two black. Just a short ride---. Bring me down a rust free tub and you can have all three tops including carpet strips!!
