Torsion Bar Questions

Hello-

I have a 62 chevy with the torsion bar set up. My questions are:

How can you adjust the height?

How easy is switching to coil springs if height adjustment is a pain?

Thank you,

Matt

Re: Torsion Bar Questions

yes you can adjust them un do the maim bolt at the end and that will lower the suspention if you need more lowering height you can pull the bar out and rotate it then try again. make sure you suppot the front befor pulling the bar out and mark the bar in the original position then do the other side.

Easy to addjust: Spray some pb blaster or wd 40 on the before to adjust them There is a screw/nut assembly at the end of thr torrsion bars, by the tranny. jack up the truck, and use jack stands. then just turn them counter clock wise .Try to do the same anount on each side . Dont back them off too much . Thats it. here is a before and after of my 60

John-

Bahahahaha!!!
I have heard of some crazy stuff, so you actualy had me thinking you might have tried that! Wow... imagine walking up and seein a guy putting the heat on like that. Yikes!

Ratrd60apache-

Thanks for the picks! I don't want the slammed look, and yours sits nice, so I think I wil be able to get away with just adjustment. Sweet.

Thanks All
