3 speed gear ratios 59 chevy
 

Hi Guys,
I have a 59 Chevy pickup with a 62 261 and the original 59 3 speed. I have the stock 3.90 rear end. My 3 speed is wore out (keeps jumping out of 3rd) and I have decided to replace it with a t-5 5 speed. Can anyone tell me what the gear ratios were in the stock 3 speed so I know what 5 speed to get?

For those of you that have done the 5 speed swap, what gear ratios are you running? what's your rear end ratio?

59 Chevy Check out this link they list ratio information for most every transmissions known to this board then some. Hope this helps. Last link is another bit about 5 spds and rear end ratios..........Good Luck Larry

Do the T-5 gear boxes have different gear ratios?
