water coming out the auto transmission cooling tubes????
I finally got the trans cooler lines from inline tube today, but when I pulled the plugs where they connect to the radiator, coolant came pouring out?
This can't be right, can it? I thought trans fluid ran through that part of the radiator?? Thanks in advance for any input/ advice. |
Re: water coming out the auto transmission cooling tubes????
Sounds like you need a new radiator. The trans cooler tubes in the radiator are leaking. Better to find it now than ruin a transmission.

Just my luck.
Does this internal water leak negatively affect the workings of the radiator? Should I just get an external trans cooler for now to save money? I was liking the idea of having the correct stock tubes though. What do you think is better? |
Re: water coming out the auto transmission cooling tubes????
if it gets cold in your neck of the woods, I would use the cooler IN the radiator. EDIT: Get a new radiator first!!! Helps get the fluid warm, and maintains a constant temp when its cold outside. If not, use an external.
my two cents Jason |
Re: water coming out the auto transmission cooling tubes????
i guess you could use it asis with external tranny cooler then at the most inoppertune time when the rad finnally craps out completely in the middle of nowhere you could worry about replacing it then:)

Rad is fairly cheap compaired to the motor and trans I would buy a new one !! My 2 cents !!!:)
