Getting ready to do a 4" lift

While my Burb was in the tranny shop getting fixed (had a major problem with the SM-465) I was told the rear end on my Burb needs to be replaced...I was able to listen to it too and it was not good. I've decided to install a 4" lift when I go to replace the rear end. I already have a good replacement rear end and while I'm waiting for parts I"ve been wondering, will I have to modify my rear driveshaft? Any help will be greatly appreciated. THanks!

You shouldnt have to worry about any driveshaft issues with only a 4" lift, I've never had any problems with mine. What size tires are you going to run?

I put a rough country 4 inch lift on the 86 we had, no driveshaft issues. They both extended out more about 3/4 inch or so. You could see the clean marks on them were they were before and they were out further by about 3/4 inch or so.

It's not a big dal or big isue, you should be fine, unless the driveshaft just doesn't bolt up to the rear end, or it's like alot shorter center chunk or alot longer then your old one.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to stay with the 33's that are on there now and when they wear out, I may go up to 35's. I can't wait for the parts to get here. Thanks again.
