Re: finally pics of new motor & front end
man im looking for that pully set up i done with having an 80 motor with 1960 pullies. Can you get some pic so i can fugure it out.
Also very nice set up whats the rest of the truck look like. |
Re: finally pics of new motor & front end
Those pullies are from a TPI car, and some late 80s / early 90s V8 TBI sedans. I've got the same on my truck, and they simply rock!

The pulleys are from a 1990 suburban I bought for parts. I swaped all the acessorys from that burban to the truck. this made the swaping a v-6 to a v-8 really easy. Here are some before and after pics for you fellers.

Re: finally pics of new motor & front end
i cant deside which ones better i love the original gille casue that what i have but i also love the 89 grille setup casue i used to have a jimmy. But know that i see the rest of the truck i see that it is one very sexy 4x4.
Wish mine was 4x4 http://home.comcast.net/~furrsam/Imag-000.jpg |
Re: finally pics of new motor & front end
Honestly, I like the original front end better...alot. To me, the 88-91 front end on these trucks just doesn't look all that good. Just a personal preference, nothing against your ride. Regardless, the truck sure looks clean...I definately wouldn't kick it out of my drive way.

Re: finally pics of new motor & front end
me too. I think the stock 4 headlight front end is the best looking truck ever made.

Re: finally pics of new motor & front end
Hey Rick,
Thanks on the complement on my truck. and thanks to you it is in there. thnaks again on the mounts, they worked perfect. By the way I was wondering why you left the 350 in your 89/85 project. You seemed gungo-ho to do the v-6 swap. later Jamie:cool: |

Re: finally pics of new motor & front end
Looks good.
I have my 91 burb grill setup sitting...been too lazy to put it on. Been thinking about selling it. |
Re: finally pics of new motor & front end
looks good man......it would be a pretty boring world if we all liked the same thing.:)

Re: finally pics of new motor & front end
Nice work. I like the 91 grills on lowered trucks. The look makes them look wider and meaner. I get cars that move out of the way when they see me in their rear view mirror. :metal:

Re: finally pics of new motor & front end
I like the later model grills as well, hope for my truck to look somthin like this someday:

Re: finally pics of new motor & front end
Your truck looks great but I also perfer the stock front ends on our trucks. MO

Re: finally pics of new motor & front end
Thanks for all of your opinions. I do appreciate all of them. As boatpuller said if everyone of us liked the same thing there would not be a reason for this wonderfull website. My plans for the truck on going are to get the body work it needs done and paint,(the pic's are very forgiving on the paint). One of the reasons for the fontend swap was that the one that was on it was put on by the po after he center punched a tree on his farm. He done a decent job but the hood had a bunch of hail dents and it had a hole for the emblem. Second reason was that I personaly have loved the 89-91 front ends since they came out. thanks again for the interest.
