Newer steering gear box advantages ?

It seems like I have heard that there is some advantages to using the '73 in up steering gear boxes. If so, what are they? I have one off a 1988 Suburban with a drop pitman on it that I can use if the effort is worth my time. I may need to change it anyhow, ever since I changed my wheels and tires, It seems to wander more then I noticed before.

Don't know of any advantage using burb steering box. But I think you have a quicker steering than the burb which I would keep. As for your wondering, you might try replacing your drag link. Seems to be the weak link in the front end of the beast. I only use 33's, and get road wander about every 5 years or so. New drag link & good as new.

The newer boxes have a qucker ratio, but you some times loose a bit of turning radius. The boxes with quicker ratios also usualy have different fittings. O rings rather than the double flare.
