C-Notch help...

I have the pipe to C-Notch my frame and I have the plate to box it in.

My leafs and rearend are already installed.

I have it marked where the C-Notch needs to go.
Should I unhook my leaf from the shackles and support the frame on both sides then cut out the notch, weld in the pipe, and then box the area?

Or is it ok to leave the leafs connected and just support the frame on both sides then cut out for the notch, weld in the pipe, and then box the area?

Also, is about halfway up the frame as deep as you want to notch it?

You could leave it sitting as is, box it first then cut out the notch. I also drilled a hole in the pipe at the top of the notch and welded a nut on top for a bump stop to thread into. I used one off of a set of traction bar. I would not go much more than 1/2 way

Re: C-Notch help...

the only thing I would add is have jack stands under the frame in front and back of the notch area.
