Bending ceramic coated headers?
 

My new Thorley headers are will not fit right because they hit the ORD heavy duty front shackles I bought. I figure if I can bend them a little then I will be alright. It's either that or cutting off one of the three bolt holes in the collector flange.

Does anyone know if I can heat up and bend ceramic coated headers without doing major damage?

That coating is pretty tough. I have Hedmens and had to bend in a couple of places to fit. I even had to use a vise on a couple tubes without any damage. Keep in mind that mine were Jet Hot coated......

Try bending your ceramic garden gnome and see what happens:lol: , might get away with a "tweak", but I'll guarantee you that you will have separated the coating from the metal - and rust will be next.

Bending coated headers is a BAD idea. You might as well scratch them with a file and put them is a salt brine for a while. You will cause tiny cracks in the finish, this will lead to seperation and will attract moisture which will cause rust, and those tiny cracks will lead to flaking / chipping finish.
