A/C compressor cycles in all positions

Saw another thread similar to the question I'm wanting to ask, but thought I'd start another thread. My AC compressor cycles in every position except off. I knew they were suppose to in the defrost position, but I didn't think they were suppose to in Heat, Vent, ...every position except off. What's going on here and has anyone tackled a similar problem before. What's the fix?

Sounds like a bad Pressure Cycling Switch, the switch is mounted on the Accumulator.:)

I think your dash controls are bad. Mine runs the compressor when it is on vent. I have a new set of AC Delco controls. One of these days I will install them and see if it fixes it. :)

How hard of an install is this. Do you have to fool up with a lot of vacuum lines or is it pretty straight forward?

I think the vacuum lines come off in groups, but I'm not sure. I haven't done it yet.

The control is pretty straight forward to replace.... once you can get to the back of it. The vacuum hoses should come off as one unit and can only go on one way. There were 2 lock type washers (for lack of the proper term) that hold them on. I just got done switching mine out of my old 85.
