Compression? Cam? Heads? Valve sizes? Rocker ratio?

compression is 9: 1 and the rest is stock for the 6.6 litre out of a 72 caprice classic

Making me do your homework, huh? :)

That engine was rated at 170 HP in '72 with an 8.5 CR - it was rebuilt and upgraded?

I'd give it the benefit of CID and say 260 - 275HP at the flywheel max.

Re: estimated hp of 400 small block

caprice classic article claims they have 260 max stock at the flywheel, and im sorry i forgot to mention this is the turbo edition 4 bolt main, and thanks, i have done much research on this motor cause it was in the truck when i bought it and this bad boy will scream, with the B&M ratchet shifter, i mean ill do burnouts with no brake just floring it for a good 50 ft

This is not a unique attribute of a truck with 70/30 weight distribution ;)

Just out of criousity,,,,,,,,,what is the tire, wheel and gear ratio?

A short/skinny wheel and tire combo could be lit up with a v8 only running on 7.

turbo fire yes, and i know the weight ratio is way higher in the front, i mean with 3:73 rear end gears and and 265/70R15 this truck does alright
