Compression? Cam? Heads? Valve sizes? Rocker ratio?

compression is 9: 1 and the rest is stock for the 6.6 litre out of a 72 caprice classic

Re: estimated hp of 400 small block

Making me do your homework, huh?

That engine was rated at 170 HP in '72 with an 8.5 CR - it was rebuilt and upgraded?

I'd give it the benefit of CID and say 260 - 275HP at the flywheel max.

This is not a unique attribute of a truck with 70/30 weight distribution

Re: estimated hp of 400 small block

Just out of criousity,,,,,,,,,what is the tire, wheel and gear ratio?

A short/skinny wheel and tire combo could be lit up with a v8 only running on 7.
