Can anyone tell me how to identify which transfer case I have in my Blazer?

Thanks 1969k10stepside, I knew I could count on you guys and it only took 4 minutes for a response. Thanks again. :metal:

BTW, mine is definitely an NP205.

Re: Transfer case ID

The little circular cover in the middle with 3 bolts gives it away that its a NP205. That't the easiest way to make a quick ID IMHO

Thanks Critter, I'll remember that.

But remember the Rockwell T221 also has that little cover - I thought I had an NP205 when I first got my K20 after seeing those three bolts and cover

Not always the case. If it was stock with a 3-speed column shift it has a Dana 20 like mine does. NP205s came with the other transmissions.

Re: Transfer case ID

And just to throw in some more confusion, my 70 K5 with a 4 speed originally had the Dana 20.

Re: Transfer case ID

I think the older ones had the Dana but by 71 or so they had the NP205 with auto, manual,or 3spd.
