Can you replace the gromet near the fuel cap without removing the tank? Maybe cut the old one off and heat up a new one and slip it on? Mine is really dry and cracked. Thanks

Yes you can but it's a PITA.

Go easy, work slow and watch the paint. ;)

yes.......almost as easy just to take the tank out........NOW...try to find a GM gasket or an NOS or something other than what everyone else sells. I have tried several from several vendors and every one developed smalll cracks after a few months. JUNK!!!!

I have done it in warm weather, cold weather and had the same results.

Thanks for the info. What grommet did you have luck with? Do you have a part number or a good aftermarket company? I've been using lmc.

Just find a GM one if you can...It will be in a GM bag....I dont have a part #.
That probably wont be an easy task.

on mine I disconneted the hose's to the tank sprayed some soapy water around the old grommet (make sure none goes in the tank )cut it from the inside with pair of dikes pulled it off ...cleaned around the the area applied a little spray wax around new one slipped it in ....
