What Cam Is In Your 383 Stroker????
 

Decided to quit piddle farting around with my 355, and make it into a 383 torque monster. what cam are ya all running, like/dislike??? i am running a 3.73 limited slip diferential and a built TH350 with a B&M Holeshot 12" 1900-2100 stall. would like a cam that had a power range of approx. 1500-6500 RPM range.
i have the Edelbrock Performer RPM and Performer 750 carb. i wonder how the performer rpm #7102 cam kit would work in a 383???

Here's a list from a previous post. Don't be fooled by the "nitrous" cam specs - I don't run NOS, the cam was recommended by the engine builder to increase exhaust flow out of the heads while providing a good idle and vacuum.
I have a 388 ( 60 over 350 ). 4-bolt block, Scat crank, Scat rods, KB Hypereutectics at 9.7:1, Lunati nitrous cam 225/235 dur at 50, 477/507 lift. TrickFlow heads, Edelbrock Performer RPM, Edelbrock 750 carb.
Built by strokermotor.com here in Dallas.
Dyno'ed at 430hp and 470lbft torque.
Idles great at 800 rpm and hauls a@# when you hammer it.

I have an Xe 268 comp cam. .477/.480 lift,224/230 duration@ .050. I have an 11" TCI verter(2400-2800 advertised stall),& 4.10 coggs in the 12 bolt......an all around good combo with edelbrock rpm heads/intake/carb,with good street manners........69

I have a lunati 235 dur 507 lift rpm heads manifold 10.4 commpression 4.57 gears first time out this year ran 13.36. Hope to improve with tuning.

mark25 the 5,000 rpm power band might be a bit optimistic. A 383 will need a very good head and a fairly big cam to pull hard all the way to 6,500 rpm. By the time you get that kind of air capacity you'll be somewhat soggy on the bottom end and will need about a 3000 stall. The good news is 383s can make near 500hp below 6,000rpm.
