4x4 rear disc brakes
I know you can put disc brakes on rear of a 2 wheel drive. Is there a rotor and caliper that can be used as a rear brake setup for a 4x4?
I bought the impala/caprice caliper brackets but have since decided to make the truck a 4x4 using 87 subrurban suspension. Anybody try this or have any thoughts? |
Re: 4x4 rear disc brakes
Which axle are you going to use? There are a lot of kits that will work.

Re: 4x4 rear disc brakes
If you run a 14FF rear end, the swap is fairly easy. Here's a really good writeup:

Re: 4x4 rear disc brakes
I bought my adapters from ruff stuff specialities, but mine is a 3/4 ton with a 14/FF. I was able to use the same calipiers that are on the front.
I was impressed by the quality for the price, $ 64 shipped to my house. http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/index.php |
Re: 4x4 rear disc brakes
The 14 bolt ones are way easier than the the 12 bolt ones.
