Deciding on how LOW to go

I just got an 81 chevy stepside shortbed c-10 that i would like to drop. I would like to either go 3 inch front and 4 inch back or 3 inch front and 5 inch back. With the 5 inch flip kit, is a c-notch necessary? Does anyone have pics of either one of these drops. If so state the drop and the parts you used to drop it!

Thanks :chevy:

The flip kit is the easiest way to get it real low, and even then you could lower it more by adding a block. With just the flip kit, a c notch is not mandatory, but wouldn't be a bad idea. When my truck had a static drop it had a axle flip without a c notch and I never had a problem.

Which flip kit would you preffer with 5 inch out back but with no c-notch?

you can do it yourself by welding new perches on the other side of the axle - definitely the cheapest and easiest way if you know how to weld.

Other than that, I'm not really sure who makes the flip kits these days, but I'd go with DJM if they make one.
