Carbeuretor (fuel) related smoke would be black, not blue at all. Besides, a well-tuned engine shouldn't really be smoking ever. That's oil you're burning.

What kind of RPMs are you turning?

Hooter 10-28-2002 12:50 AM

high rpm blow by? You are going 100mph in a chevy truck:rolleyes:

bad 71 chevy 10-28-2002 01:02 AM

it was close to 4000 rpms or some thing like that i was paying more atten to the road

Sounds like the engine is just showing it's age. I wouldn't worry about it too much, until it starts spitting blue smoke all the time.. :D

Blue / white smoke out the tail pipe = oil
Black smoke out the tail pipe = fuel
Steam out the tail pipe = OH NO!...
