Control Arms??
I've got a 5"/5" drop set up for my truck and read somewhere that with 3" spindles and 2" springs there might be rubbing between the wheel and the LCA.
I think it also mentioned that it only rubbed with 15" wheels, but cant remember. Will there be rubbing if I run my 15" wheels? What size of wheel will not rub? Also, the little crossmember right in front of the very rear X-member, and just behind the rear axle; can I cut that off without losing frame rigidity? Thanks |

Re: Control Arms??
I think he meant rubbing on the stock LCAs with the 3" spindle. I've heard a lot of people say that you need to do some trimming if planning to run 3" drop spindles with 15" wheels.
I've never tried it myself, but I read a lot. Hee hee. Rc415 and I believe bigblock73 both had problems with rubbing 15s and 3" drop spindles. |

yep on 3 inch spindles the caliper ears need to be grinded to clear 15 inch wheels

Re: Control Arms??
Yes sir, I got 2.5 spindles and 2 drop springs with a coil cut out just to be crazy. I pushing as low as possible. Talk about rubbin and cut up inner fenders.
The lower control arms must be grinded down. Mine where a huge problem on the bottom side toward the back or cab. Only on big sharp turns. Easy fix though. |
Re: Control Arms??
I have drop spindles and I noticed that my wheel wieghts keep grinding off. This is the reason I thought about getting bigger wheels. I wonder if I would have problems with 20s...?

Re: Control Arms??
