S-10 front clip

I have a 52 GMC and a 1985 GMC S-10 . I measure the out side of the frame on the 52 and its 36in , the 1985 s-10 measured 36in on the inside ,with the same dept of frame 5 1/4 in .I was thinking of cutting the 52 frame back under the cab and matching the s-10 ,over lapimg it about a foot and using som plate under and on top, then i would not have to buy a kit or fab one up and to mention the time saved . This is my first build and i would like some input. Thanks robert

Tie s10 IFS is too narrow period. You have to bolt on spacers, so why not start w/a IFS that track matches your trk

Re: S-10 front clip

The AD track is 6" wided than a s10, thus the wheels get lost under the nose w/out wheels spacers.....look at pics of them. The latter trks are even worse.
Adding puts more force on the bearings & ball joints.
It seems like the most common spacer is 2" thick.

hi guys , im going to buy a mustang 2 clip ,i can order it local . I was trying to find out if anybody used the s-10 clip and if so how did it work? The kit for the s-10 swap is a good idea but i have to order it threw the US and i am a little uneasy with that because i just finished getting screwed over by a snowmobile dealer up here ,to bad there is no dealer up here for that kit because there is a big market .
