Re: 6 lug disk brakes?
VonNicko,
I used CPP (Classic Performance Products) kits to put 6 lug disks front and rear on my 65. They sell the 87 model heavier front spindles (Western), bigger bearings, bigger ball joints and tie rod ends and the adapter sleeves to connect with the early model inner tire rod ends. The rear used an 80's cadillac caliper with emergency brakes. Good kits. Fairly reasonable prices. Worked well for me. http://www.classicperform.com/6092chevtrk.htm TR |

Re: 6 lug disk brakes?
now i have read somewhere that a particular year of chevy (van, i think) came from the factory with a six lug pattern and disk brakes. i believe it was right when they began switching from front drum to brake, but were still sticking with the six lug pattern....anyone able to confirm? the obvious benefit is being able to make the swap on the cheap without those spendy after market 6 lug conversions
