Steering shafts
So do the steering shafts in the upper and lower control arms need to be replaced? Do they wear out? I have my uca and lca off the truck right now, but I have not been able to break loose the steering shafts, so if they do need to be replaced any suggestions on how you get them loose? TIA...Randy

Re: Steering shafts
They often need replaceing. If there is any play in the shaft & bushing they need replaceing. If they are binding, grease them good & clamp the shaft in the vise & work the arm up & down. This may free it up. To replace them screw the caps off & remove the shaft. After putting on the new ones center the shaft in the arm.

Re: Steering shafts
They are not binding, and work just fine, I pulled them off my driver a couple of days ago. I haven't been able to break loose the screw caps off the ends. There is not any play in them that I can tell, but I thought I would replace them while I have them off.

Re: Steering shafts
Failure to keep em lubbed up they start squeeking that metal to metal contact and the upper/ lower ball joints. You would sound like spray bomb @ the board meet.
