Re: FOUND...fiberglass parts
PA-Indian - Ohio George still runs his speed shop in Dayton.
I happened to be flipping thru my GPS and ran into the shop address. I was only like a mile away so I ran over and spent about 2 hours with George and his son. I even have the poster shown in the picture in my office. George still does alot of work on the old ford motors, 427, 428 & 429's. They even have a Buick motor in the shop from the Indy lights days. At one time they made every motor for indy lights. Walking history is what he is. Same shop that he has worked out of for decades - proclaims it is the oldest continuously run speed shop in the nation. Tons of trophy's from over the years in the shop as well. They have so many old parts it makes you sick, they had just dug out a hurst wheels metal shipping drum to sell on ebay when I was in. Hurst used to send out all their wheels in these drums about the size of a 30 gallon grease drum with the white black and gold hurst logos on the side. |

QUOTE] '68 BigBlock... yes ...George is a VERY likeable LEGEND of drag racing. Truly the high pont of the weekend. We talked & talked. Plus I had just purchased a video of the 1958 Nationals off of eBay and told George how he was shown making a pass .... then he told me the whole story. Being we are not far from Dayton, OHIO (Pittsburgh) George said to stop by his shop sometime.... Can't wait to do that This must be my year... Don Gartlis is coming to our local drag strip later this Summer. Now if I can just meet LINDA VAUGHAN & Shirley Muldowney.... ;) MORE Pics from the Gasser reunion.... |

If we had you motor we would! Reagan You don't know where I can find a deal on a short deck block that will go 4.560. I would buy aluminum or steel. I just want a deal.
