FREE - Eaton/Ho52 Rear End

Eaton/H052 Complete rear end from a 71 C20 2wd. 4.10 gears open rear end. Has good pinion seal, right rear wheel cylinder leaks and likely the axle seal also. Has 96,000 original miles, documented, its not 196,000 or more.

Center section should be good for sure, Brake drums could be good yet but don't know.

Also have a set of useable trailing arms from same truck, just starting to spread, better than many I've seen - also free.
I'll throw in the rear shocks too, nice and tight, we're doing new ones anyway
And the track bar too !!
Got some 16.5 wheels too, they might as well go too - Cleaning house here
Bring your truck !!!

We will have to cut the u-bolts off because we need the shock mounts.
It has been power washed and is not greasy and nasty.

Come and get it !!! Pickup only !!! Located in Estherville, Iowa

What's up with those wheels you have? steelies? was this an 8 bolt rear end?

Re: FREE - Eaton/Ho52 Rear End

Wheels are 16.5 x 6.5 - 8 bolt white steelies, original wheels, we have "upgraded" to more standard 16 x 6.5 - 8 bolt, easier to find more modern tires. Just taking up room, boys would like to reduce the tires to little rubber pieces and smoke after new motor goes in, else not worth much to us. We have 5 of them.

Also and update - Pulled rear end today, trailing arms really arn't too good, unless some one needs free ones bad, I'm going to scrap em.

Would you consider taking less?

I am tempted because I have a NOS Detroit Locker that would go real well with this...
Heading toward Rochester anytime soon?

Re: FREE - Eaton/Ho52 Rear End

Actually, I think I am taking less than I could get scrap price for !!
Anyway, do you need the whole thing or just the center section ?
Reason I ask is that after getting it apart, the cups welded on the axle where the u-bolts go through are getting thin and would need attention.
I likely could deliver to Rochester for gas money.

Re: FREE - Eaton/Ho52 Rear End

If you don't end up delivering this to chris h, I'd be interested in the axle and the trailing arms, if you still have these, I'd be more then happy to come take them off your hands

Re: FREE - Eaton/Ho52 Rear End

All I "need" is the center section...
If Merchant67c10 needs the whole thing, that seems like the thing to do to avoid time and trouble on your part GreenMachine.
If Merchant does not need the whole thing, then I will take the center section and work out a meet with you.
I appreciate the offer, and free parts are good parts!!! Very cool thing to do!!!

Merchant67c10 - When could you pick this up ? Prefer that, if not fairly soon, then on to Chris H.

Sorry but I looked at plans and everything, but I wont be able to make it up there anytime reasonably soon, sorry about that, thought I was gonna have time, but things change.

Did you ever notice you can never get rid of free puppies? but, if you charge $10-20 they are gone within a week ??

Chris H - you are next - I might be able to get Rochester in early July. How would $100 delivered for the center section be, or is that too much ? Let me know....

Re: FREE - Eaton/Ho52 Rear End

Consider the center section "SOLD".
