imo it depends on mechanical ability. edelbrocks are easy no tune carb but not that great off road. holly is great all around carb but the ones ive had required tuning constantly.

Re: have a couple questions about my truck

what about the holley quadra jet replacement i heard it was a good carb without much tunning is this true

on the quad there is not just a whole lot of adjustment to them but they are great carbs if they are built right

Just rebuild and run the Q-jet, unless your pushing those 37's with some big power. My Q-jet equipped k-5 has really good power with 36's and Im getting 13.8 Mpg on the highway.

I was reading the thread and wondering who convinced you Quadrajet were junk? I might not be a professional mechanic but have been around long enough to know that what looks cool, is popular and what works best isn’t always the same thing.
If you are looking for a easier to adjust carb go with Edelbrock. The Holleys are a little easier to adjust than a Quadrajet but perform about the same as a well adjusted Quadrajet. A properly adjusted Quadrajet will perform as well as any other brand under most circumstances. If you truly want the best performance, tuning and mileage you need to go with electronic fuel injection.

I would say go with a quadrajet or Edelbrock those are my 2 choices.

I have had good luck with Edelbrock myself both on and off road.

Re: have a couple questions about my truck

so the edlebrock sounds like the best way to go for on and offroad and easist to adjust
