1970 blazer worth it??

I am looking at a 1970 blazer on craigslist, and want to know if it is a decent deal. It is a CST, with a hang on air, automatic and 350, he claims the motor and trans were rebuilt 3 years ago. It has no back seat and needs front seat covers. The rust is minor (in his words) he wants 2500, is this a good deal?
What should i look for in particular.

thanks
David

Rust!!! everything else is good after that. 2500 aint bad. considering any running vehicle is worth a 1000 in the eyes of dealers.

Looks like it'll need some outer lower door work, rockers, lower bedside work, possibly lower fender work. Most is pretty typical, I'd say it's worth it considering I paid 3K for mine is similar condition, but no AC or auto.

From what I can see in these pics, at that price it wouldn't last long at all in these parts. Unless the W/S frame and floors are gone, it would be worth the $$. :chevy:

David, that last pic is actually a pretty good pic - if the drivers side is in similar condition I think this looks pretty solid. As mentioned in the PM, sure would like better pics but at this point if you are really interested, I think you better be making a drive to do an in person inspection and be prepared to drive it home.

Based upon what I see posted and have seen in person, those pics show normal rust, probably less than I typically see. Still wish he was getting better quality pics.

I say roll the dice and take the drive to inspect it. Worst case scenario you lose some time and gas money - best case scenario - the body is in good enough shape and you buy it!!!

:agree: while your there be sure to check out the windshield frame, inner kick panels and the firewall behind the brake booster.
(other areas of 'most' common rust)

Inspect both front and rear door pillars as well and of course the torsion boxes.

For the price, I'd be drivin' already. ;)
