Muncie 4 speed out of a car?
will a bellhousing out of a 69 chevy p/u work on a car 4 speed tranny? The truck has a three on the tree, and what all brackets will work?

Man,you won`t believe what a bolt-in a Muncie M20/21 is in place of the Saginaw 3 spd that`s in your truck.Bolts right in!
I`m using an M22,which has a fine tooth input.Had to buy a clutch for the spline count.I`m also using the automatic crossmember and mounting the tail of the transmission there instead of the 3 spd bellhousing w/mounts. |

It will bolt right in. Just make sure you get the linkage kit for a Muncie.

Oh man. Chevy was great about that. I broke the 3 speed in my 78 pkup and already had an M22 I was saving so I swapped them out. I had it in the shop and back out in under 2 1/2 hrs. Amazing that the splines were all the same, yokes included. What a breeze.

Be sure to check the bore of the bell housing where the transmissions pilot. Truck bell housings have a larger hole and you will need an adapter.
