show me your drop w/o bed modifications?

i need an idea on how much (drop & driveability) i can get without cutting the bed. i am also taking into account driveability at that height. my plan is to get as low as possible with bags at all 4 corners, which will include relocating the rear bag mounts and a watts-link that i already have built to maintain center, but am still deciding how i will mount it behind the chunk. i have a 6.0 gen 3 engine/trans and 4th gen camaro headers & exhaust that'll pass through the trailing arm crossmember. i need pics & stats please, i don't want to drag anything, but i would like to have the ability of putting it on the stops when parking at shows , but this will be a driver and a father/son project. i know that i 'll be fabbing my own notch, because i don't like the way the others (bolt ins) fit. i will alter the fenderwells if necessary (taller/wider), but i don't care for the look of the raised section at the rear of the bed or the middle hump in a "partial" section. again, i need pics & stats.............thanks.

Here is my truck at dump with no notch & no drop spindles

And my old truck same thing

With any notch you are gonna have to cut a hole in you bed floor for the top of the rear axle to poke through ;)
If you want to have a smooth floor, then just do a floor raise on your bed & put as big a notch as you want

This is as low as you can get with a stock bed and fender liners. It did take some mods in the rear wheel wells though, but nothing visible.

Here's mine: it has a c-notch but the bed floor is stock (as far as for axle clearance...tubbing it for more tire room though)

the C-notch is homemade. I'm also using camaro headers and will tuck the exhaust up through the crossmember. My build thread has a lot more info and pictures.

thanks Ackattack, i read your build up to date & you have answered a few questions and gave me a few good ideas. i will be using the gen 4 camaro tank also, i like the fit. i plan on bringing the fill tube up thru a stack pocket hole with a little modification and a marine type filler cap like i've seen done by a member of the board here before.
please guys, keep the pics coming.

What I can't find is pics of the mods that he did to the rear wheel tubs. I'll dig some more, or maybe someone else can post them.

So N2TRUX, is that the max notch that can be attained before the punkin hits the bedfloor.

Re: show me your drop w/o bed modifications?

Yes, that's about as close as you can get. The top of the pumpkin is very close to the bed if you air out with no stops. On my 77 we put small flat stops in there in the event of system failure.

Re: show me your drop w/o bed modifications?

what are u running on the front, i am thinking bags and drop spindles will give me the profile i'm wanting, and i am thinking alignment at ride height and maybe any bumpsteer issues. i will be using sway bars front and rear as soon as i come across a HD 4th gen rear bar. i really like your notch, my blazer's is similar. looks a lot cleaner than the bolt on "side plate" and i believe inner-braces are very neccesary after any notch especially if you plan to carry anything in the bed or tow anything.
