Transmission Crossmember
Anyone have trouble removing their trans crossmember? I was able to get the bottom bolts out, but it seems the cab has to be raised to remove the top ones as their isn't enough clearance to pull the bolt up and out????

Re: Transmission Crossmember
I had to cut the bolts and install new ones from the bottom up. GM wasn't thinking very well when they did that.

Re: Transmission Crossmember
I never have a problem when the body mounts are good. Put 'em back the same way

Re: Transmission Crossmember
If the bolts are the stock length, you should be able to use a pry bar or a crowfoot bar to raise the floor up enough to get the bolts out.

Re: Transmission Crossmember
Thanks, All good suggestions. I have to say it was one of the first times during the build I thought to myself, "who thought of this?"
