Re: Brake Dust Shields
I guess I shoulda said front brake backing plates. These are the suckers that bolt to the spindle and in a sense cover the inner side of the rotor.

Re: Brake Dust Shields
Are you talking about the caliper mounting brackets?

Re: Brake Dust Shields
Those are them actually. Guess I had the name wrong.

Re: Brake Dust Shields
No, you had it right, they are dust shields. I don't think you want to mount your caliper to them.
What souce have you tried that was so pricey? |
Re: Brake Dust Shields
I'd get them from the junk yard if ya got a U PULL IT or something like that go there you will probably get both for les than 20 bux!

I know those may serve double duty as an inside dust shield but they are definitely very thick (1/8?) and are held on by 6 studs to the knuckle and the cut out and two bolt holes there are for the caliper. |
Re: Brake Dust Shields
Exactly what I'm looking for. The actual dust shield part is all rotted, but caliper mount is fine.

Re: Brake Dust Shields
I agree with you blink, the calipers do mount to them, I would even offer a picture, but I happened to stick my tires back on last night. They are in fact pretty thick, I had my truck sitting down on the ground on them for a couple weeks until I stuck the tires on. Made it lasier to lower to lift the cab back on. Good luck finding them 454, I would also suggest a junk yard/u pull it of some sort. LMC only carries the 2wd ones from what I see.

You are correct. I failed to see the 4WD part of his post. My bad...:(
