If you have a one wire alternator then Toss it!!!!!

Re: Do I Need This Part?
You should have a jumper wire for your harness to take it's place.
I wouldn't throw anything away until your project is done! Just put all the not needed items in a box and let it sit until your done. s/t |
Re: Do I Need This Part?
I ran across this thread while looking on how to convert to a one wire alternator. I'm not having any luck with the search so can anyone tell me the best (and cheapest) way to go to a one wire?

Chuck it!

Re: Do I Need This Part?
www.wiringharness.com has harnesses that they sell for those who have 1-wire alternators. If you are doing some serious upgrades and/or replacing wiring, then you may want to consider their products.

Hawker7 The cheapest and simplest way to convert to a single wire internal regulator alternator and maintaining the stock wiring harness is to use converter kit. But first you have to identify the alternator type that you will be using (see attached picture).
Normally if you are going to buy an alternator to replace the stock one with a single wire it would be an SI For CS Alternators use part #37787 converter kit by M&H Electric Fabricators For SI Alternators use part #27555 converter kit by M&H Electric Fabricators Converter kits can be found at ( http://www.wiringharness.com/ ) use the search function or contact Wess at Classic Heartbeat Pickup Parts ( http://www.classicheartbeat.com/default.htm ) site supporter. Hope this helps |
