soft touch rev control?

What does a soft touch rev control do?

Re: soft touch rev control?

It makes the ignition misfire to limit rpms.

Re: soft touch rev control?

It randomly takes out cylinders to control the rpms at the rev limit. SO you are not loading up a few cylinders.

Like said, it drops random cylinders, and the processor will not take out the same cylinder two cycles in a row. With the old studder boxes the ignition was in effect shut of and on repeatedly to keep rpm's from going over a set limit. This caused cylinders to load up with fuel and very often a big ol bog at the launch, or dead cylinders for the whole pass. The 'soft touch' was developed by Mallory if I remember correctly and is now a standard (in some form by numerous names) in all rev limiting ignitions.
