Heater problem

It's getting really cold in Deer Park! It should reach -20 before Friday and I like driving my blazer around so I need to get the heater fixed. It worked fine two years ago, but it sat for about 2 1/2 years until I put a new motor in it. I hear the fan blowing but don't feel any air coming out. Any suggestions?

Some mice may have found a new home, thats what I found when air didn't move

Pretty common to have mice nesting.

Also, I've had problems with the squirrel cage getting stuck so the fan sounds like it's running, but no air is coming out.

Thanks for the help! I will take it apart and see what I can find out!

Darn mice! They made quite the nest in there! It wasn't that bad getting it taken apart, cleaned out and put back together. Now everything works great!

 Glad ya got heat, nice to see ya drive it in the winter. You can do a bolt in upgrade to a newer year blower motor... I think the part # PM102 works

Gotta love those racket wrenches Bouncy

I just stole that picture off the web. I'm not even sure if it's out of our trucks, but it looks similar.

FYI, pass hood hinge must come off in order to pull the fan and it's still a tricky twist to get the compartment ahead of the core, which is where nesting usually occurs.

Is there air on cold? if not then definitely check that the fan is turning. Might also confir that cables are moving diverters, as you may have a nest AND abroken diverter so the air is always going into the heater core. Basically , take it apart

i would say you can take the front to sections of the inside boxx off relatively easily, and likely tell where your problem is (in fact pulling the rubber cover for the heater cable will let you see if the fan works.
