Re: just got a new truck
ya just a project truck somethin to do after school to keep me out of trouble

Re: just got a new truck
jumping your truck and off road racing don't usually pair well with a daily driver. you are going to need to decide whats more important.

Re: just got a new truck
I agree with hotrodhomi...jumping+offroad racing do not = daily driver. I would think it's going to have to be one or the other.

Re: just got a new truck
Is it a 4wd or 2wd?

Re: just got a new truck
KOOL SCORE BUD. GOOD LUCK WITH IT. HEY CAN U POST SUM PICS OF THE BLAZER IN UR AVATOR? GOOD LUCK WITH THE TRUCK:metal:

Re: just got a new truck
2wd and no serious jumping but something that can handle minor off road trips to the desert maybe the sand dunes and just so more of a dd than a race truck

Re: just got a new truck
For good/real offroad/desert ability you will need widened control arms as already mentioned by streetstar.. and coil over shocks instead of coil springs. You would need to remove the spring cup..
The stock set up does not allow a good range of motion especially if the suspension is lifted at all. The upper control arm bottoms out on the upper coil bucket not allowing much droop in the suspension, which is needed for a properly tuned suspension. |
Re: just got a new truck
do you know a good site that would sell the wider a arms i am thinkin about four linking the rear for sure and fox or king shocks all the way around hopeing to get about 17 inches of travel at each tire if possible but if i could at least get 10 that would be good for me

Re: just got a new truck
A member on here named Prerunner had a lifted 2wd.
sounds like a cool project/ |
Re: just got a new truck
Step one:
Throw all the stock suspension in the garbage. step two: read, make contacts, and look at other trucks that you know can do what you want to achieve. Step three: Build a new frame or at the bare minimum box the stock one from front to rear. step four: Build the suspension around the coil overs, and remember the higher up you put the upper mount the better it is going to handle. |
Re: just got a new truck
i have been reading doing research taakin to my dad and i think i have decided to just lower it and put it on bags because the family theory is 4wd put them in the air 2wd drop them to the ground so i think i will stick to that

Re: just got a new truck
That will require less custom work since that mod is more common than making a baja truck out this body style. Good Luck
