i took my gauges out to install a white face gauge kit.. and the truck is getting a color change so they are out and i pulled truck out and i come back and i gotta puddle of oil by the driver pedal...how do i plug this so i dont leak when i want the engine to run because while the truck sits while we fix the rust and get it painted i dont want the carb to gum up

take the fitting out of the block and put a plug in it

You could probably pull the fitting @ the back of the block & put in a pipe plug.
Should be 1/8", I believe.

That way nothing gets bent up, or crimped in the cab.

I've never had a plug when I needed it but I did have an extra gauge. Very handy when you prime the engine before you start if for the first time after rebuild too.

That what I do as well. I have an extra oil gauge that I just screw on in the cab after I take out my cluster.
